Our regular language lineup includes (deep breath) :

Looking for a place in Paris where you can order a coffee in French, complain about the weather in English, flirt in Italian, argue in Spanish, and accidentally learn Polish before dessert ? Congratulations. You’ve just found Denfert Café - probably the most talkative corner of the 14th arrondissement.

Every evening, our tables transform into a joyful linguistic circus. Locals, expats, travelers, students, diplomats, accidental tourists who got off at the wrong metro stop - everyone gathers here for one simple reason : to talk. A lot. In as many languages as possible.

French, English, Spanish, Italian, German, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Greek, Russian, Ukrainian, Arabic, Hebrew, Turkish, Persian, Chinese (Mandarin), Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Swedish… and occasionally someone invents a new dialect after their third espresso. We’ve stopped being surprised.

No registration, no awkward ice-breakers, no “tell us three interesting facts about yourself.” Just walk in, grab a drink, find a flag on the table that matches your language (or your courage level), and start chatting. Mistakes are encouraged. Accents are celebrated. Dictionaries are optional. Charades are a perfectly valid communication strategy.

Why people love the Denfert Café :

  • Because learning grammar is easier when there’s cake ;
  • Because nothing builds confidence like surviving your first joke in a foreign language ;
  • Because Paris is even more beautiful when you understand what everyone around you is saying (or at least pretend convincingly).

Whether you’re a fluent polyglot, a beginner who only knows how to say “hello,” or someone who just enjoys listening to the music of different languages while sipping a cappuccino - you’re welcome here.

Denfert Café isn’t just a café. It’s a daily reminder that the world fits around a small table, especially when everyone agrees that coffee is an international language.

Come for the coffee. Stay for the conversations. Leave with new words, new friends, and at least one story that begins with: “So I tried to explain this in Korean…”
